The mounting of the transducer needs to be changed. Look at your manual, it will show you how it needs to be set. My units work at 50 m.p.h.
Does anyone use the fish id on their depth finder? All the photos that I have seen on here have been the arches?? I have a eagle 480 fishmark, is this a good unit? I only have one on the console and not one for the trolling motor. It will not show me depths if I get over 10mph, the depth blinks - any ideas?

rdants got it...If you lose signal at speed, you have turbulence of some sort from loss of good "contact" (laminar flow) with the water. Start playing with different angles/heights or locations to correct.
As for fish ID, keep it off! :D

I agree keep the fish ID off

when i started crappie fishing i used fished symbols, i spent countless hours fishing for schools of baitfish, turn it off, it will be hard at first but when you locate fish you will know its fish and not something else.

You all ruined it for me. Everytime I go out I think I'm over the motherload of crappie, and to think they are only bait fish. No wonder I dont catch anything big in this lake, I'm chasing what I should use for bait.
Are there any good videos or charts to help you know what different things are by the arches?
