OK, I'll bite, what does the borax do?
Ok on Lake wateree its time to get some bait up for hard times.Fishing everyday,I see the way things chage day to day.The bait is there,I boraxed and bagged up 16 dozen, great for those frozen finger days looking for bait.I am thinking ahead.Hopefully it will pay off.I recommend Borax to eveyonr that is frezzing bait,

Makes them just like fresh bait, still has blood when you hook them.Preserves the bait twice as long, and twice as good.Even good in the tub after fishing for that fresh get into bed smell.Gets shad scales off quick too.
We did that with salmon eggs in the fall for the steelheads in the spring. Work real will.

Great tip on the shad, I know borax works great on Salmon eggs. One question if I may TEAM FLOPEYE I have tried using frozen shad in the past and have trouble hooking them the body just seems mushy and wants to fall apart. How do U hook them? thanks

I wish the bait stores would use it on there frozen shad and herring. They are always real mushy.
