would sure love to see that slab
Took Ferdi out this AM and it was really tough. We only caught 2 crappie and his I am not totally sure what he caught it on. I caught a big old slab and the funny part is I set my rod down in the rod holder with a 1/16 oz. glow jig and when I looked back my rod was bent over so i grabbed it and there was a 2.2 Pound slab on it. He totally inhaled it and I just couldn't get it through my head as to why we couldn't get more crappie to bite. My jig had a dark green hackle tail and it was a green glow jig.
I am so disappointed in this trip as I thought it would be slow, but good grief it was SLOW! I was totally happy with that crappie on that glow jig though and missed a few others on it. It was the same place the wife and I caught about 40 (not near all keepers) last Saturday night and were back home before midnight.
If I take a pic of that big old crappie I will post it later.
Fredi I promise to show you a better trip next time we go!!!

Skip, had the same problem yesterday for awhile. Sat we caught 60-75 crappie but yesterday hit the same spot and nothing. As I set one rod in the holder to rig up another I got a bite. Set the second rod down then had another. The would only hit a bait if we dead sticked. give it just a very slight twitch and they would bite, but they were in no mood to chase a bait at all. Might be something to try if it happens again
Hey they call it fishing not catching. I had a great time without getting my hands dirty. Got me some great jigs, some good tips on using them and got to fish a beautiful lake with so much cover. Thanks for everything Skip, we will do it again I'm sure. Ferdi aka Fred:D
