    Default Wally Marshall rods

What rod is better for verticle jiging the universal or the pro series? Does anyone know what action the universal rod is? Thanks

If Mr.Crappie answers it will be WM himself.

I like all of his rods. Especially since they have so many eyes.

    Default Wally Marshall Rods

I've had his signature series poles since 2003, and I love them, light, has back bone. I use them for trolling and hand jigging.
They are great poles, I've caught several 3 1/2 pound crappie with these and they handled them great.
Like Sac said they have a lot of eye's on them, can't beat em.

Why do you guys find the additional eyes so important? I've noticed on my one rod that doesn't have insulated eyes on it that it's easier to feel the slightest little tick when the crappie hit my 1/32 oz jigs, but I was just interested in what the additional eyes did for you guys? Thanks!

Both the sig and Pro series are great rods. I prefer the cork handles and adjustable weights on the Pro series though.

FishingDog the biggest benefit of more eyes on the rod is better weight distribution over the arc of the rod. When that 3-4lb slab grabs ahold, having 12-14 points of contact is easier on the rod than 6-8 pressure points.

I have 4 of the 12' tightline specials which are good rods but I sure wouldn't want to hold one all day jigging. The cork handled ones are much lighter.

I love the wally's and wouldn't trade them for any other crappie rod out there. Just my $.02.

I use the PRO SERIES for vertical jigging, they are lighter, more sensetive and the cork handle is more comfortable. Yes more guides make a rod more sensetive due to contact points. Also makes the line flow smoother when fighting fish.

Thats the only Crappie rods I have.....I love them. Got a couple of them: 4'6" Dock Rod, a few 6'6"'s, 8', and a 9'. I use each of them for different situations. I use the little Pflueger spinning reels, absolutely can not beat that combo for the money!
