Default Loaded the boat this week end.

Good fishing. Bite was not hard, more of a tug. Fish full of eggs now. Water temp about 50 to 52 degrees. Fishing water 14 to 20 ft. Fished mostly around power line area around Mansard Island (Big Sandy). No giants, but nice 1 to 1 1/2 pounders. Caught most on buble gum jigs. This was Saturday.

Sunday, spent day hanging around West Big Sandy area. Again bite was not hard. Caught a bunch of yellow perch, bass, and a few nice crappie. I was using minnows with trout nibbles. Yellow perch like the nibbles (or maybe the minnows) and so did the bass. Bass were peckerheads. 12 to 14 inches, but fun to catch. Water temp at 50 degrees, and I was fishing 8 to 15 feet of water. Just playing around.

No pictures. Sorry. Camera got dropped in live well...Honey said I did it, but I think it is a cover up. I did not argue...Can't win anyway...lol

Sounds like a fun weekend. How is the new motor working out?
I did not get to fish Saturday. WE rode to mayfield Ky and Memphis to look at truck campers.
After the shock we are still looking. did not think it would be any trouble to find a slid in camper for a short wheel base truck.

CP> are those yellow perch the same fish we catch in Bama? These squirt you with some white stuff and are a dark yellow with black bars. I caught my first one about 6 years ago. Until then I had never saw one around the lakes I fish. They were not here back in the 70s.

By the way guys, perch jerking will make you go blind. :p

yes sir I am. I fish east central Alabama & West central Georgia lakes> west point, lake harding, Goat rock, and walter f george(Eufaula). I have never fished anywhere but these Chattahoochee river chain lakes by Georgia Power.
