I have a small lake I fish that I can't get a boat on till it dries out around the bank more. Its actually a reservoir. I can get around two sides. One side is a shallow flat and I can walk the lenght of the dike, bout 25 ft. in center. Havn't had much luck yet and am wondering if dropshotting would keep a jig in the strike zone longer. Thanks David
I do a lot of drop shoting in the Winter. I use 4 to 6 12' rods spread out around my boat using a crappie rig and a 1/2 oz. bell sinker. I use minnows and I drop them to the bottom and fish the ledges of creek channels. I usually drift with the wind or use a slow setting on my trolling motor. Wal-mart sells Eagle Claw crappie rigs at a resonable price. I would imagine this would work well in that deep spot of your resevoir.
Good luck!
