My first crappie, tight-lining!

I went out for a while yesterday, trying to learn how to control and fish 4 poles sticking out the front of my boat. Fun and frustrating. I did manage 1 small crappie. Water was heavy stain to muddy. He came on a orange head with a black grubb body. I had minnows on one of the 4 rods. Each rod had one bait above and one below a 1/2oz weight. Not much catching, but I know you have to go and do it, in order to learn. So I will be out there trying it. I did pick up a 16' and 14' rod to play with.

Going to be fun.

when tight-lining speed and depth are key plus it helps to have a co-pilot trolling motor so you can work with the speed.you want to stay at 0.5 to 1.5 mph.now that you have done it with the 1/2oz try it with a #5 or 7 split shot above the jig 12 inches.just remeber you want to keep the line straight down as much as you can,it may take you a hour to go 300yds but the rewards are well worth the time.
