They work real good and they don't cost much either. I have fished 4-6 hours at a time with one battery.
I just picked up one of those Brinkman Starfire II underwater lights to try out tommorow night. I'm hoping it'll draw some fish.
Has anyone ever used one before and did it work ok for you? How long did your battery last using it?

That report makes me feel a little better about buying one now. You never know what's hype and what actually works nowdays.
Thanks =)
I have used them last year and did fine. I did have some trouble between mine and my youngest son's. You have to be careful not to hit them as we had some fill with water and then were no good. However they work and if you don't beat them up too much they will be just fine. I always used 2 of them, one at each end of the boat and some of the time we still had a pontoon and have even put out 3 on corners.
The best part is they are low cost.

What size battery do they take??

They run off 12V batteries .... same as the other accessories on the boat. (in case you were thinking they had to have 9V batteries installed)Originally Posted by father of 4

Guess I should also say I use to always take an extra battery for the lights as I didn't want to use my cranking battery for them. Now I have a 24V troll motor so I use them to run my lights at night.

Sounds pretty good and yes I was thinking of the 6 volt battery and thought it would get awful expensive after a while buying them everytime you went out. Dont worry about me guys I am married to a blonde and shes rubbing off on me hehe.

That's too funny! Attachment 13240Originally Posted by father of 4
It's easier to have a separate battery so you can move it to where you want with out having wire all across the boat. I just kept one in a battery box with the top off and put it in the boat when night fishing.
