For night fishing, I would use minnows, but you can catch them on jigs under lights too. I can't help you much with the day time fishing.

are you Bass fishing, or Crappie fishing ?? Or Muskie fishing (gotta watch throwing a spinnerbait on Cave Run ... them toothy fish like them -- alot !! )

If Bass are your game .... try plastics down to 15ft - along the bank between the dam and Marina/ramp creek (always did pretty good on that bank) ... or try the main lake bank from Twin Knobs ramp towards the mouth of Warix & Ramey creeks.
If Crappie are your quest .... try minnows at 10-15ft over deep grass beds, and/or standing timber on points and in deep water pockets. Caney Creek, Warix Creek, and Ramey Creek ... and even Scott's Creek (where the marina is) should offer you plenty of places to try. Standing timber along creek channel drops, points, or roadbeds should offer you some good staging areas for Fall Crappie.

You might also want to stop in at one of the local tackle shops around the lake, and inquire as to what's currently "happening" on the lake. Be sure that you are aware of the "slot limit" rules concerning LMB/SMB ... and any ramp/parking permit fees that may still be applicable.

ps - and don't forget to post a report on your trip, either here or on the KY Forum Board !!
