There are no stupid questions. I am not a big day time fisherman, but I'm sure someone will chime in with some help. I wouldn't think you should be looking too deep in the river channels though.
I would like to try the crappie this weekend and I am just trying to learn so please look over me if I ask stupid questions. I think the water temp is 80-82degrees. Do you think I should start in a creek channel in about 15-20 feet of water or would I need to go deeper in the main river channel 25-45 feet. I've got so much to learn and I hope you guys will be patient with me. Thanks for your input.

Water temp is about the same here and i've been finding my fish on main lake points and bluff cuts suspended 10' deep over 15'-20' of water some were relating to wood some were scattered around breaks.
