    Default Northwest MO lakes

Went to Nodaway Co. lake this afternoon in hopes of a slab or two...but didn't have any luck. Tried a wide variety of jigs and colors. Even tried a few spinners and swim'n minnow and other similar plastics. Conservation Agent stopped and said that she saw several people catching limits on Bigby Conservation Area and at Happy Holler Lake.

Gonna have to hit Happy Holler up tomorrow...its has a ton of standing timber and is fun to fish.

Well its about 10 miles northeast of Savannah, so probably in the 20-25 miles northeast of St. Joe. Its fairly new...opened to the public a few years ago. check out MDC's website for more info. It is a large area with multiple access points, there are a bunch of ponds in it and river access too.

I believe it's Michelle Holland. Ran into her at the lake, she seemed fairly nice. Although I have heard some not so good things about her.

She had to be better than Higdon, even his own kind didnt like him. Its been awhile since I have fished up there. Have you tried Mozingo for crappie yet this year?

Hit Happy Holler up, no luck weather was nice but really windy.

A friend went with his dad and his dad caught a small bluegill. I guess its still a bit early. Getting the fever though.

I haven't. Guess i didn't even know there was a place to fish there.

I grew up in Clarinda, IA (30 miles North of Maryville) and I used to fish the water treatment plant there. They had about 6 ponds they used to hold water in before using it in the treatment process. Always caught fish.
