Weekend on Ky Lake

Crappie Stalker and I tried our luck this past Friday. Not much luck. I think we got 6 fish total. It was supposed to be a calm day, but, the wind got up and water was capping. We tried several locations and depths. We rode around a lot. Fished 10 to 30 feet. And from flats to drops. We covered it all. Skimpy pickings. About 1 pm, the wind died down and it got hot as Hades.

We saw a lot of dead vegetation out from Paris Landing Park ( Mouth of the Big Sandy and the Tn River). It is a treacherous area this time of the year, but some good fishing usually at this location. We didn’t have any luck because of the dead grass.

We saw a lot of bait fish, but no fish around the bait fish. I could have been Zoid plankton. It is hard to tell the difference with sonar. Something suspended.

I finally found a few Saturday. They were in 12 to 14 ft of water with the water temp at 82 degrees. I was pleasantly surprised. (I am persistent too).

Another great weekend. Life is good. We had a large time.
