Smile Requesting information on long line trolling

I would like some info on long line trolling. When to long line versus spiderrigging, how much line to let out how heavy jigs to use how deep of water etc.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hello Steve,
If you go to the articles section, there is a great article called the art of trolling. That will help you out a lot. But i will try to answer your questions; I typically longline year round, with the exception of winter which isnt long in GA. Longlining excels for me starting around the end of sept and i continue until the water temp drops to its lowest usually around Dec-Jan in GA. I would say that i let out between 20-50yds of line. I mailnly use 1/32 and 1/16oz jighead but let my speed control the depth i fish. I have longlined in as little as 2ft and as deep as 40ft. Hope this helps

That is my favorite way to fish for crappie and I have it written down on my How To page on my web site. Take a look at this link and I think it may give you some good info on this subject....
