    Default Lower unit oil leak

Got back from the lake this afternoon and while picking things up, I noticed an oil spot under my motor. '72 Johnson 20hp. Its coming from the small hole indicated in the picture. Is it normal? I dont think it is. I decided to change the lower end fluid and it was milky. Perhaps Ive got a bad seal? My thought is the water mixing with the oil caused it to foam and come out this hole. Any thoughts?

Sorry.. second thread, tried to delete.

Could not see any picture. There should not be any hole in the lower unit that would leak oil. I would take the prop off and make sure that fishing line is not wrapped around prop shaft and getting under the seal. Are you talkin a hole half way up on the rear housing? Mine does puke a oily film over time ( its the carbon/exhaust that older 2 cycles make) but its the nature of them. I would get a piece of pipe that fits the drain or add hole ,weld a air fitting to it, and put 20 or 30 lbs to it and see if you can see it leak.
