    Default On board charger

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can anyone suggest an inexpensive to middle-of-the road priced 2 battery (bank?) charger. Also, I leave my boat in the garage so can I just plug it in when I'm done and leave it plugged til the next time out? How about winter? I fish once or twice every 2 weeks from Dec. thru Feb. Once or twice a week the rest of the year. Can it stay plugged in for long periods at a time without hurting the batteries or catching the garage on fire? There is a Bass Pro and Cabelas within 30 minutes of my work. Thanks

I use the basspro chargers myself! Has yet to let me down! The 2 bank is around 100 bucks! I leave mine plugged in al the time, as it manages the rate of charge do to what each battery needs.

I have a Guest 2 bank onboard charger with 10 amps per bank. I leave it plugged all the time when the boat is not in use with no problems.

I've had good service out of Minn Kota Onboard Chargers. Did have a bank go bad in one when the marina where I slip my boat took a lightening strike but that's the only touble I've had out of them.

The one that got hit by lightening is a 3-bank charger, 10-amps per bank. The other two banks are still working fine. If anyone wants it they can have it for what it would cost to ship it - probably $15 to $20 depending on how far it goes. You could use it as a 2-bank charger or maybe have it repaired.

I get a discount from Minn Kota so I just ordered a new one and kept using the damaged one until the new one came in by putting jumper wires from one of my TM batteries to my accessory battery and charging them together.

If anyone wants it shoot me a PM - first come first serve.
