Question about Matzuo hooks. What would be their equivalent to Eagle Claw 570 or 575?

    Default Salt on the beach

They are not the greatest quailty in the world (culls in almost every box)but they are SHARP and they will get you and the fish if you fool with them....lol. But they are like trying to find a SINGLE GRAIN OF SALT ON A BEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Unless they start falling from the sky again sometime soon....One thing about Eagle Claws, they may not be made wierd or hang in everything they come in contact with, (BUT) you can get them ANYTIME!!!!!

Yeah I would kill for a cross-reference guide. If you are using a these in a Do-It mold, they will work. But if Skip doesnt come along with the info, PM Sinkum, he is the one who turned me on to the sickle hooks and I am pretty sure he uses a Do-It mold that called for the 570 hook.

Yeah, I have a couple Do-it molds and they both call for the 570 hooks.

They will work in most do it molds made for a 570 unless you start messin' around with big heads on small hooks and small heads on big hooks, then you might run into a little custom work to get them to fit....But if you pour standard size jig hooks called to be used in that mold, I dont see where there should be a problem.

Sorry I didn't see this post until now, guess I had a bush weekend.

IMHO nothing compares to the Sickle hook because the gap is much bigger than Eagle Claw or other style jig hooks. It's the big gap and strange bend that make them so different, plus they are much sharper.

I don't pour my own jig heads so I don't know the problems you have with MAtuzo, but some seem to be able to mold any Sickle hook in any weight, but some have trouble with putting a #6 size in some weights.

If you need someone to talke to send me a PM and I will hook you up with someone that knows.
