Finally got back out on the river after the 2 month summer school break.
The weather was cloudy, rainy, 60's and windy, but we were fishing and stuck it out through a pretty heavy down pour. We know it was the only one for the day, watching the weather channel.com closely.
Here are the 1st bass's of the day.
Caught on 2" rib grub, along with this big gill and another little bass.
Now, it was time to change over to my favorite, 2.5" paddle grub and the 1st tree we fish.
Then we went to 3 spots with little to no action then all of a sudden a back to back catch.
Yep, catch, livewell, cast, catch, picture of both and released. SWEEEET!
We caught a few small crappie, nice gills, a few bass, nothing huge and not big numbers either, but atleast 24 each for the day.
Now this is a perfect shot of both of us getting hung on the same limb, trying to hit the same spot only a few casts apart. Looks mighty fishy, doesn't it.
Well, it was time to head for the launch and we changed to smaller as we headed in. Firetiger 2" rib grub, my goto color for dark days.
And this funny hoooooking.
I guess I hit the target dead on, hehe.

Thanks, it was a wet, but fun day on the water. The down pour came and ended with in the first 1/2 of the day and just stayed cloudy the rest of the time. An awesome early fall, late summer fishing day.Originally Posted by father of 4
I can't wait for the weather and water temps to drop a bit so the crappie will come back into there pre-winter hang out.

Glad to see you back on & in the water.
good catch seems like you had a perfect day on the lake even if it was raining. sometimes it helps if it is raining a little. nice small mouth bet that was fun hauling them in. CW
Nice looking catch camo fish. How are you fishing the jigs to catch the bass?
They are either eatting them on the fall or on the reel. Cast and let it sink and before it hits bottom, normally you get a tap, if not I just reel, pause, reel, pause it back.Originally Posted by FishnLine
