Default What I wrote after 9/11/2001

Here is something I wrote after 9/11/2001. It was a day that truly hit America hard.

Soldiers and Firefighters. Some people were meant to call 911, Some were meant to BE 911

I knew within three or for lines you were a present or former firefighter!!! It was a tough day for all of us. I just watched in total horror! Great job as always!!! West Milton Fire Department (72-84).

Well guys I sure appreciate it. I was a Paducah Fireman from 1994 until this year. The young man you see in the pic attached is the reason I am no longer on there. He was 15 (I knew him since before he was 1). We got a call of a gunshot victim. I had to wait until the Sheriff and the Police Chief to go into the house first, then I was the first one in to work on him. He took his last breaths when I kneeled down and started CPR. Worked on him all the way to the Hospital (30 miles away). He didnt make it. This happened in March of this year. He was one fine Quarterback on our Varsity Team here and the school retired his #. Now every game so far, his little brother wears his big brothers Jersey Shirt to all the games. Anyway just pray for the family they are still having a hard time. I am looking forward to the day I get on the witness stand to help put the one away who did it.

I've been in a very simliar situation with an 8 year old that lived up the street from me and I knew. It was my breaking point from the rescue and fire services. It's just not fair! They (fire and rescue personel)are all my heros!

They are all my heroes. I have worked several deaths involving teenagers as well as grownups but this was the one that got to me. When you are on a Volunteer Service in a town of 1494 and the only town in the county then a lot of the ones you work, you do know.

    Here's mine.............."IS AMERICA LISTENING?"

    Is America listening now?
Someone has to lead the way, and keep our solemn vow.

America says “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”
Meanwhile I see too much grief and sadness.
    Energy, inflation, and unemployment lines
Riots in schools are signs of the times.
Income taxes are going higher and higher.
Children’s homes are being destroyed by the fire.
America is stuck in the muck and the mire!

Little is being done to right these wrongs.
Individuals have forgotten their own freedom songs.
Start to get involved and raise a fuss
Till America cares about the rest of us.
Everyone…let’s raise our voice and speak.
No more turning of the other cheek.
Individuals united can never be weak.
Now is the time to take our stand. We’ve
Got to make America a better land.

May God be with you. Keep CALM and STAY ANCHORED with your faith.
