Kisler is better than G-Loomis! I use Shimano Crucial!
I got a very expensive spinning reel for my 65th birthday coming up in a few months. I now need a rod to go with it. At least 6' and light action. What would you get? I don't like ST Criox at least the one I had I didn't like. GLoomis?

Having used Grandt rods alls I can say is they preform better than any other rod I've owned.
Hit my link to see them.
JMO but i think i would go w/ a Shimano! lifetime guarentee on any rod over 40 bucks no questions asked, as for me i hit the bargin bins, but i also have a 4 yr old fishergirl w/ most of the time.

I like berkley lightin rods, and the berkley hot rods, good rods that won't break your wallet, keep in mine i cast a jig or jig and float i do not troll or spider rig
Bill,
What do you want to use it for, if casting small jigs, roadrunners etc. look at the Tica's that Lou at Grizzly has. I bought three this year and like all of them. B&M has some great rods also. DonG has seen my Tica so maybe ask him. Have fun with whatever you get. What kind of reel?

I really don't want to buy any more rods on line as over the years I've got too many that I just didn't like. My boys appreciate that tho as they wind up with them. I guess I'll go over to BPS today and just start picking rods up. I'll know it when I'm holding it. I'll be using it mainly for casting jigs and beetle spins. Its a Shimano Stella reel.Originally Posted by wvspec

When you go to BPS, it is ok to use my personal parking space.:DOriginally Posted by IBNFSHN
Just keep trying rods until you find one you like. You may even want to put a similar reel on the ones you may like to feel the balance.

I think Loomis rules. Their SR and SJR rods are great (the SJR has more backbone.)
I agree.Originally Posted by deathb4disco
