    Default 12 volt batterys

I'm thinking of installing a second deep cycle battery and run it in parrallel with my current trolling battery to extend the run time while on the water.
Has anyone else done this and if so, could you offer any suggestions. I think the batteries would have to be charged seperatley incase one was lower than the other? I don't have a battery isolator on my boat yet but thats coming in the future.

Hey speck, follow this procedure, and you won't go wrong. It's best if both of your batteries are the same amp/hr and age. One battery just ain't enough for me, especially on windy days. It will likely let you enjoy a full day of fishin'.

We have a system hooked up that way for many years but use a 2 bank smart on-board charger. Plug it in and forget it until time to go again. But like luvjign said, It's best if both of your batteries are the same amp/hr and age.

I always run two batts in parallel but charge them independantly with 2-10 amp chargers.
