Default Got my marabou ready (Pic)

Well just sitting around right now so tied me some marabou jigs to get ready for Fall trolling around grass. I can't wait on the temps to come down a little. Need to add a few hackle tail jigs now and maybe a couple of other colors, but here is what I will start with...

    1/24oz. with a #6 Sickle Hook...

Your jigs look great Skip. The Chartreuse and Aqua is dynamite.

I have started to two tone color my marabou tails. White and Chartreuse, White and Aqua, White and Olive, White and red. All have a few strands of Krystal flash added. The body is the Florescent Chenille. wrapped around some "Clouser style" bead chain eyes on a #6 jig hook. They are extremely effective. Underwater they look like an escaping minnow or baby Bluegill. Fish just love them.

Nice marabou jigs! I like to have shorter tails but that is personal preference.

Those are nice Skip. I agree with shipahoy, I like the chart/blue ones. Also like the chart w/red head.

    Thanks Guys!

That Chart/Blue one is what I found and did great with Spring 2006. Ones I put it on that Spring I couldn't seem to take it back off. I believe the first time it was used I caught a 17" crappie and some other really nice slabs.

Tail length I try all different lengths and let the customer tell me how long they want it and then I just make them that long or short which ever the case may be. I use both long and short. The middle Christmas jig has a relatively short tail.

I try and keep the entire profile 1.5 to 1.75 inches. That seems to be the best ticket for the Crappie to get the hook part in to the roof of its mouth. Fish the lightest jig you can get away with so it is easier to inhale.
