    Default My first post!

    Hey everyone!

I just wanted to stop in and say hello and introduce myself. My name is Jack Wells, and I'm part owner of B'n'M Pole Company, along with, of course, Buck Simmons.

I will check this board periodically, so please, if you have a question of any type for me, please feel free to post it. My intent is to use this site to educate, not promote. And, I fully expect that y'all will educate me on a few things as well!

I would like to thank everyone in advance for being promoters and good stewards of the great family sport of crappie fishing.

    Thanks for reading!

Default Bruce, you don't need to buy another pole

You can buy only the section that needs to be replaced.

    Welcome to the board Jack!
I fish with long (17-20 ft.) telescopic fiberglass poles with no reels and they can be pretty hard on the wrist because they are so heavy. What are my options? Does anyone make a long graphite pole with no guides?
This ? is for everyone. Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the board Jack
I for one will make use of you knowledge regarding your poles. I have way to many ( or at least that is what wife tells me), but I keep learning new techniques. I have problems with my wrist holding a pole for any length of time. Crappie poles are sure a lot better than spending hours with a bass flipping rod.

What is your suggestion for trolling pole and a tight line pole (two seperate poles)?

welcome Jack. I use your rods every fishing trip. I haven't had any rods break, but I have nocked a few of the eyes out of the top. Doing some guiding with them as well. Be glad to put a sticker on my truck or a patch on my shirt

    Jack

I also use the B&M BGJP 112 crappie fishing. About three years ago I started using the B&M pole to fish for channel around the fish feeders put out by the KDWP (Kansas Dept of Wildlife & Parks). I used 50# braid a circle hook and sometimes a split shot and a strip of cut bait and as stealthily as possible would flip the bait around the feeder. I would let the bait slowly settle to the bottom set a bit and then re-flip the bait into the water. I have landed many channel from 10 inches up to 15+ pounds using this method. To say the least it is a real hoot playing a 10 plus pound channel using the 11ft pole. The bite is not subtle when the channel pick the bait up. It is just like the schoolyard bully that grabs something saying “give it to me its mine”. Then you have to get the fish turned before he wraps around the anchor chain on the feeder and moved into open water.
The B&M rod has performed very well at playing and landing these fish. One time a 5 lb channel slipped out of my hand in the boat and fell across the rod and broke the tip section. Don’t believe any failure of B&M’s part here.
After buying another BGJP 112 rod I read on the label that one could order just the tip sections. I’m now the proud owner of two BGJP 112 rods with a couple of spare tip sections as backup.

    Default Mr. Wells

Hello Jack, glad you made it to this site. It's the best crappie site going, Kind of like BnM poles. I'am on my fourth 12' Sam Heaton Super Sensitive rod. I have broke 3 of them in the exact same spot. 4-6" from the tip. Your company has replaced 2 or the 3 at no cost to me Until they come out with a rod that is as sensitive as the Heaton rod. I will continue to give my money to BnM pole company. If I had a dime for every time I recomended a BnM pole to someone. Well lets just say I could buy another one of your poles. Why do I keep coming back to BnM?? ''Great customer service''

Keep up the good work Jack Wells
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
