A lot of people at work would have given their eye tooth just to go out like you did. Cooler weather and monster slabs are on the way. Get the grease hot and the hot sauce out.
The water at the lake nearest to my house is too low to put a boat in so crappie fishing is out of the question there.....so i went to the next nearest one..the water is low there to. Well, I got alot of scouting done, mats were visible. I found a few stake mats in about 8 foot of water, I did manage 3 small "green carp" lol bass. Anyway I suck....lol. I also fished 4 wooden post that were in about 14 foot of water, nothing.

Shoot I would like a trip like that now. Been in the house way to long. but watch out .. Hope to set the water on fire in a few days..
Also Times like this is when a camera and GPS are worth there weight in gold. Lots of great scouting time.

things are cooling down here in Upstate NY. Only got one last time I went, got skunked the time before that. My biggest problem has been opportunities to fish over the summer - always have something going on to keep me off the water.
Fall's almost here and weekends are starting to free up - I can't wait!!!
I would think they would be in deeper water. I would look at all creek bends and good drop offs around grass if there is any.
