Thread: Hello from Lake Travis

    Default Hello from Lake Travis

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been a fisherman my
whole life but now I have the fever more than ever. I think I found my
calling... Ben catchin' lots of crappie on jigs and even bought a new
UL. It's a Quantum Xtralite w/ a Tiny Deadbolt spooled w/ trilene XL
4 lb. in low vis green. Sweetest thing I ever put in my hands. Caught 13
slabs from the bank on crappie thunder w/ pink crappie bites. First two fish were in the dark... bite was 6 AM to 8:15 or so. One of the funnest
and most gratifying trips ever. The boat stayed home. My best fishing
buddy passed on recently and he was an extrordinary crappie fisherman.
I was never as good as he was but lately it's really been happening for me.
I know this sounds strange but I'm sure John is with me and helps me.
There is just no other explanation. Anyway, just wanted to chime in and
say how much I love crappie fishing. I live on Lake Travis and now the crappie
on artificial is making me look at the lake in a whole new way.
I have much to learn! Thanks for listening. Tommy

Welcome from Virginia. I can really relate to you as I recently lost my fishing buddy of some 30 years.

Another Welcome from Kentucky. It is amazing what inspires us. I had let my fishing fall by the wayside until a couple of years ago. I took my father fishing a couple of years ago. He was in failing health, and I wanted to make sure we (I) had that memory. It was the last time he went fishing. That inspired me to return to my (our - generations) first passion. I talk to him and my Grandfather occasionaly when out on the water. I know they are with me. ( I wax nostalgic.) Welcome, and Full Stringers to ya!
