    does any body know where i could get a free lake topo map for a lake around me

    Check with your local DNR (Division of Natural Resources). Sometimes I just call the lake in question and ask....but your best bet is usually the DNR or Corps of Engineers.

    Default go to the link below and click on mapserver

    It is the maptech mapserver. You can view and print a map of about any topo. Don't buy from them. You gotta run their cd all the time when using maps. No install to the hard drive. On line stuff is limited but it is free to view and print.

    I just downloaded Arkabutla Lake, loaded it into Oziexplorer, calibrated the map, and now have a functional topo map on my laptop. I can go there and look now. I can use my laptop as a GPS and a sonar. Hope to soon use it as sidescan. I am working on it.

    No maps to buy.
