There is a company out there right now collecting cell phone numbers. They in turn sell the numbers to marketeers. Cell phones are no longer immune to solicitation. I have heard rumors of extravagant text message bills.
This is all legal folks. Just like your home phone number; it is not private. You can have your number unlisted, but it is not private. It is Census.
