Sounds like yall had a good time. Congrats
David Waters and Jeff White stopped by yesterday for a visit. I liked to talked them to death.
Got to see Jeff's boat. It is awesome. First time I ever seen a 90 HP tiller. He also has a small Yamaha kicker. He told me how he used the kicker for a trolling technique which I thought was interesting. He uses the kicker to push the boat and the trolling motor to steer the boat. Very clever. I don't know much about trolling. I got a lot of good pointers from David and Jeff about trolling. Never too old to learn.
I got to show David and Jeff some of my toys. I think they have a good idea how all my stuff works now. It ain't that complicated.
We shared a lot of good information. I truly enjoyed their company. We had a large time.
They went fishing this morning, I came home. Too hot, and the wind is strong out of the North.
Just to share,
Tom

You can't fish with a hung line!
I've never met David, but Jeff I know is a good guy. I got to meet him, and see his boat when he was camping at Grenada this year, and that is one nice boat!!!
Man I tell ya that Jeff shore cleans up good. That dude shaved. What's up with that?
Hey Tom, we appreciate you having us. Your knowledge of eletronic equipment and devices is increadible. Just wish I could figure it out without feeling so freeking dumb!
We did better fishing Sunday morning. We had a horrible fishing day on Saturday but Sunday was a little better. We started putting a few things together and finding a few areas we feel like will hold fish with slightly cooler temps and still with some water to be drawn down.
We had to abandon the cranks and find them with minners. Still not giving up on the cranks, of course, but will need to find fish with the minnows I guess. Jeff caught a real nice one just before we left. I wish I had about 2 weeks to just fish, but gatta make the best of it while you are there. It was real hot Saturday, but Sunday was a little nicer.
Anyway, thanks for your hospitality and showing us pointers on how using the GPS better. Hope you enjoy your Retirement! Will call when we are up that way again! Go eat a bite at the Had-a-Call!

Hey, I really enjoyed the visit. Had a great time talking and looking at
all the 007 gadgets. Thanks for inviting us by :D
Wish we could have stayed up there a
few more days, was just starting to put something together with the
fishies when we had to leave.
That is some interesting waters to
navigate, I think I got off pretty lucky I didn't hit something before I
figured out just how many shallow spots were out there and started
being more cautious.
I'm looking forward to coming back, may try to get another one in
before the "off limits" period starts.
Ya'll think that jig in the picture is something, you ought to see the
rod and reel Tom sent with me to fish it on
Hmmm. May have to see about getting some "Team Cane Pole"
decals made up :D
What can I say, I'm sorry/lazy :p grew a beard cause I'm too lazy toOriginally Posted by fishingpox
