Thanks good link. Lots of good knots and all I use are there. I use the palomar and the Uni knot most and sometimes I use surgeon's Loop. For years I only used the palomar and it's easy enough to use at night with out lights like when I was younger and use to night fish for bass.

and for anyone that likes animation - here's an animated knot site:

I used this one to help my son learn to tie his own knots.

Thanks Pappy. Great site. I still am using the bobber stop idea you had for "slip floating". I have started to just tie overhand knots into the line until it is big enough to stop the bead and slip float, but small enough to go through the first eyelet. Works great. I carry three "Ugly sticks" pretied. One to fish at 3.5 feet; one to fish at 5.5 feet and one to fish at 7.0 feet deep. Problem solved. If I need to fish deeper, some "Plumbers teflon pipe tape" does the trick. Just twist it and tie an overhand knot twice. Trim the tag ends, add the bead and slip bobber.

Everything is attached with Palomar knots or drop loops. Works for me.
