Default What size jig head is you Favorite

Here are the ones I stock and just trying to get a feel for what are the most popular. I know 1/16 is probably #1, but what are your favorites please? The hook sizes in the pic ar #8, #6 and #4.

The hooks seem kinda small to me for some of the weights. I use #1 for 1/8th oz. #2 for 1/16th, #4 for 1/32, and #8s for 1/64th and 1/80th all with sickle hooks. But my favorite weights would be the 1/32 and 1/16th oz for crappie and the 1/64 or 1/80th for bream. I'll use the small ones for crappie if I need to though.

    I like a 1/16 oz. minnow head with a #2 gold hook.

As of this time I don't use anything larger than #4 Sickle. Actually some of my guide friends that fish heavy brush like the smaller hooks and say they lose less jigs that way. One uses 1/8 mostly and with #6 & #8 hooks. In my experimenting with that I do think you get hung up less with smaller hooks and the #4 Sickle is not one I am talking about since is has a gap as big as most #2's.

I have thought about #2's but resist as I don't think there is any reason to go bigger than #4 sickle.

But I do know some people that like the #2.

One other point...I have some #2 drop shot hooks I use at times with minnows and they are smaller than the #4 Sickle.

The size the fish bite on. :D Its a race between 1/16 and 1/32 depending on the water speed, wind, and depth.
Good things come to those who bait.

My personal preference is 1/32 ounce with #6 hook.

    Arrow I'm in the ...

1/16oz crowd .... with 1/32oz for slower fall rate/control. I like a #2 hook in both ... but a #4 has served me well, in either. I don't worry about hook size being a determining factor in "hanging up" ... I use weedless jigheads :p

Put a weedguard on those 1/24oz, and I just might have to purchase a few dozen from ya :p
