Question Blood River Crappie Kentucky lake?

Looking for crappie fishing in the Blood River area of Ky Lake. Looking for areas to fish and any patterns for crappie. Going this weekend. Please reply if you can give me some information. Looking for depths, jig colors, whatever you can give some retirees. Or any other areas close by. Sure would appreciate it!
    Thanks and God Bless,

If you do your homework the crappie in Blood River of KY Lake should not have a chance to hide from you.

Here is your assignment before you go.

Check out http://www.kentuckyhydrografx.com/ and purchase the Blood River Sidescan maps

Go to the Kentucky DNR Web site and look for the Blood River Crappie Tracking Study that the KDNR did two years ago.

After you have studied the maps you will find the crappie.

Oh and the water temps need to be know before I can tell you if the fish are shallow or deep or ready to spawn. That can't be predicted so can't help you there.

Minnows make good bait for crappie along with jigs. Might give the TeeZur Jigs a try. If the fish are shallow then a good slip float rig will work.

If they are deep then spider rigging is a favorite tactic to use.

Water levels and color of the water is dependent on the weather the weeks leading up to your trip. Lots or rain will raise the water levels and discolor the water in the back of Blood River. The main bay near the big lake will most likely remain clearer than the back of the bay.

Fish the ledges for white crappie and look for the black crappie to be much shallower and further back in the back end of the blood river backwaters.
