Has anyone ever painted jig hooks?, I want to paint some red and didn't know if it's a waste of time.

do it all the time use clear red fingernail polish, it only works on gold hooks.

You could powder paint them and bake it on w/no problem.

Seems to me if you pained the barb, it would be a dull hook. Just me seeming....

Hey TCF, I'm assuming I would have to heat up the hook and then dip it?

Canepole, Yea I'm sure it would dull it some, but a file take care of that.

I've messed around and dipped hooks in a red lacquer paint. Bronze hooks work too. Looks just like the ones from the store, and the paint stays on the hook as the red hooks.
