    my partner and I will be there, sure wish we had some of your BIG ol crappie up here.sure is different fishing down your way , we have weeds!!!!:D

    Order a power cable. Hook it up to a 12 volt battery (small ). Power up the unit and put the unit in the simulator mode. Play with it in the kitchen. That is what I do. Be extra cautious of the polarity. If you let the smoke out of the 997, it want work too good.

    I have let it escape from a few different things in my time.

    I found a really special part in my Vexilar when it had that intermittent
    open circuit - little square thing on the board in the back -

    found out by powering it up with the back cover off, I could mash one
    place on the board with the tip of my finger and it would work, let off and
    it quit... and if you touch that little square thingamabob while doing this,
    it will go "BZZZT" and burn a little black hole size of a pin on the end of
    your finger - let the smoke out of my finger but it still works :p

    I have heard of smoking mirrows and smoking pot, smoking gun, but never heard of a smoking finger....you da main Jeff. :D
