Default How do you say it?

crappie... To me this rhymes with happy, but some folks pronounce it "crop-ee"

So the question for this poll is "How do you say crappie?"

I thought I could find evidence that it was "crappie" whether it was one, or a cooler full.........But, this site, as well as others say you add the "s"

I still say "cooler full of crappie" (pronounced: croppy)

In So Ga we pronounce it specks as in speckled perch. In consideration of friends from other areas that don't know what a speck is, I sometimes call them crappie (like happy)

Back about a year and a half ago I asked everyone the same question and we had a good time figuring it out. Here is the thread.
