White bass look like white perch. Stripers have very plain stripes.

I know what you mean Nut. When they are small they are pretty hard to tell apart.
Good things come to those who bait.

My biggest prob has always been between white bass and hybrids (which we can only keep 2-3).

A small striper will almost look like a bullet, long narrow with vary distinct black stripes. Stripers will always have solid lines and white will be broken up badly almost spotty. Now you also have hybrids or wipers, what ever you want to call them but they are white bass/striper crosses and sometimes harder to tell the difference in them and white bass or stripers. Usually hybrids have very dark distinct lines that are broken up and they are most of them time stocky looking like white bass but not all the time. Best bet if it has solid dark lines its a striper, broken dark lines its a hybrid, and light almost spotty lines its a white.

Around here it seems the whites just don't have near as distinct striping as stripes or hybrids. But here's info on telling the difference.
Whites have one tooth patch on their tongue.
Stripes and hybrids have two tooth patches on their tongue.
Have to be a dentist to tell the difference.

around here at one lake they have darker lines then at another.. but like in previous statements..true stripers are streamlined and have solid pronounced lines. whitebass and hybrids have a higher shorter body with the lines or most of the lines broken up

    Default From my experience......

The stripes always manage to tangle all of your lines (no matter how many you have out) in 1.04 seconds flat (or quicker)...........all other trash fish..............a teeny bit longer:D

Eddie, I'm not a gambler, but I'd almost bet the bank you picked that wad of artillery up off of my boat:D If them were cam (Tru-Turn) hooks, I'd bet 2 banks:D
