put some water in it
if water runs out the hole plug it
U might also want to but a fuel pump diaphram............ just in case
Good luck
I've spent the past several weeks with munchkin #1 and me working and cleaning on my dad's Hydra-Sports 175E honking huge bass boat that hasn't seen water in 2-3 years. OK, it's huge to me, anyways.
I have NO idea which holes in the back of this thing should be plugged, and he don't recall with certainty. I am pretty certain the 2 w/ screens are livewell inlets. A, B and C are mysteries to me!... but I bet that at least one (all 3??? ) should be plugged.
I've attached a couple photos (I hope):
Here's a close up of the boat:
Here's the boats tail end... OK, the stern! :
I think matters are well in hand, cleaned, fresh lower end oil, new motor battery, motor cranks and starts well (on the trailer w/ a hose on it...... ) and, weather permitting, he wants us to "try her out" on Lake Hamilton early Tuesday evening...:D
Advice/opinions are APPRECIATED.
Tommy
P.S. THe boat's user manual isn't much help, either.

2 live well inlets, 2 livewell overflows or outlets that stay open----- Then One boat drain outlet that needs a plug.. Put some water in the live wells one at a time & see where it drains out, dont know if U have a recirculate valve or a plug in livewells that must be pulled.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....

I think the A-Hole would be the drain. It is the lowest point on the aft hull bottom. B and C are prob the live well overflow outlet.

I agree totally.
Are there not hoses going to the top 2 holes?

I'll tell dad to put some water in the live wells w/ a garden hose and see if water comes out B and C.
I am thinking that A is the bilge drain, and should be plugged. There are 2 more openings up above those photos. I'm fairly sure that one is the bilge pump outlet, up high so you can see when it's working and one is the transome/,motor mount area drain hole... both stay unplugged.
Dad took it to a local mech. early this Summer, to "tune up". I don't know the details but he (dad) says the mech. did some work to it but didn't know what all, other than clean and synch'd the carbs.
Thanks for the straight answers.
OK, now for the "witty" ones can post........ .........

cane pole is right. Lowest one in the center is usually the plug.

Will fish for food!
That's what I've about ciphered out. But... someone told us to plug one of the upper ones too "cause his boat is just like ours..." Well, it ain't.Originally Posted by beenfishin?

Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. The center bottom hole went into the bilge, the ones above, B and C, were plumbed to the livewells. The outing went well, the motor was really "boggy" and took about 10 min. of running before it "caught", and never really ran as strong as dad thought it should. Still, I saw 41-42 on the speedometer. It sure feels different than my 12' john boat and 5Hp!!! :D
We never ciphered out the depthfinders. It has a Lawrance X22A and an X70A. I did find a wire chewed through on one. (squirrell attack several years ago.)
The livewell recirc. valve seems stuck, and on and on.... I reckon they're all the sort of things expected from something that's set up too long.
