Trailer wheel bearing price$?

Checked into replacing mine...13$ each,26$ a setX4 tires=104$,then tax and grease
Is this an average price or do I need to look elsewhere?

This is for me to buy them and do it myself.

That sounds way high even for quality bearings. For instance, Bass Pro sells a complete set (inner, outer and seal) for around $15. I get mine from a place called Portsmouth Trailer for around $12 a set and they are good quality bearings.

Get bearing buddies also so all you have to do is stick a grease gun on there and grease them instead of pulling them out

Have used bearing buddies but have noticed when tearing down yearly that they only grease the outer bearing and not the inside one. Some of the inside ones even had some rust on them.

Dunno where you're at, but bearings are about 6 bucks each around this area.

Bearings and races should be changed as a set. This requires you to press or punch out the old race from the hub and then insert the new ones.

I just bought two new hubs with the bearings installed for 113.00, just pack the bearings and put them on. You can always carry the old ones for an emergency spare.

make sure that you use a quality marine grease and not just any grease,as heat will cause it to break down

I picked up my boat today and looked on the wall for bearings and they were $11.50 a set. bearing, racer, and seals...

It's a good idea to replace the inner seal when you replace or even just re-pack wheel bearings.
