    One of the easiest ways to protect your sonar cable is to use spiral wrap tubing. This tubing is cheap and you can get it at Wal Mart or any auto parts store. I replace mine every year (and also the tie wraps). This solves any deterioration problem. Just part of maintenance.

    I use it on my trailer lights pigtail too. Good stuff.
