    Question beer batter?


    I'm goin to big sugar creek this afternoon to catch big smallies, my hydro pac is iced down, my pack is packed with an assortment of rapalas, bombers and jig and pigs, and its only 8.40. so I was sitting here thinking (and its makin my head hurt). How do y'all do beer batter ? what recipes do y'all have? the fam is gettin bored with cornmeal and grilled fish and i need another idea. any help would be much appricated

    i always buy the beer batter mix near the seafood dept. in the grocery store.
    we like it real well. dont know any recipes for batter from scratch. might use something like pancake mix?

    we use beer batter for all our fish fries these days - my recipe is really simple and can be found here: http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=40995

    the only thing I've changed since I originally posted it is I now have a propane cooker that I fry in - instead of a skillet. Keep the oil between 325 & 350 for best results.

    1-2-3

    1 beer(a little more for thinner batter)
    2cups flour
    3 eggs
    2teaspoons baking powder
    garlic powder to your taste
    white pepper to taste(kids don't see the black spots)
    mix together, fry and enjoy--shu
