    Default How's Everyone Fishing Now?

Just curious what methods you folks are using now that we're in the hot summer pattern. I've been sticking with my vertical jigging but fishing as deep as 13 feet on brushpiles. It's so hot to sit in one spot though I'm thinking about spiderrigging or trolling Bandits.
What's working the best for you folks that are fishing?

I'm still vertical jigging and pitching my stake beds in 12' or less,i've been wanting to pull some bandits but they're staying on the beds so i will too until they move.

I ran out of fish on a camping trip last month. I am doing a family get together this weekend and I hope the fishing is good at Sam's this afternoon; I haven't wet a hook in a month. We have gotten used to talapia at our house. The wife sez it is cheaper when I go fishing at Sam's too.

Night fishing on dark nights has been productive for me.

I have not been much lately except to take the grandkids a couple of mornings and I use a 3 way swivel with a minnow on top and a 1/4oz jig on bottom and did fairly well with crappie and catfish. The Jig was a Silver/FL. Yellow/Light Blue tail. I also would use a few other colors like my Christmas Jig and maybe even a FL. Chart/White/White or all White jig.

Normally this time of year I fish at night most of the time with the same set up and using a green light. The only thing that would change is the color of the jig I am using. I would go to my Black Widow or Green Hornet Jigs.

In either case it's time for water at least 20' deep and fishing 12'-18' down over brush or a creek or both.

Beat the heat and boat traffic and nightstalk. Had been doing ok on our stalks before last Saturday. For some reason they didnt bite on the new moon for us. I didnt mind to bad as it was a mosquito, snake free location we were fishing and the stars were awesome.

No luck here either, summer has arrived and so have the bassboats and tourneys. I will be glad when it cools down and we have the creeks full of crappie again.
