    Default black widow "ultra"

Anyone use the Tite Lok black widow ultra? How do you like it on a scale of 1-10? Does it adjust vertically if so how?

    Thanks

Yeah, I use a pair of them. What do you mean adjust vertically? If you mean height of the holders, then no. If you mean the ends of the poles, then yes. You just loosen the bolt that holds them in place and slide the mount forward or backwards. Very sturdy mount.

My pedestals are 18" high. The the rod holders bolt to the top of it. Thats why I went with them so I didn't have to bend over so far.

I've got a double set of 4, and the height is no problem. However, I did modify mine a little. The Mickey Mouse thumb screws they give you to lock each rod holder down will not stay tight by hand tightening them while running choppy water. Pliers destroy the plastic heads quickly also . Same problem if you mount the Tite-Loc track for these to slide in and out of..........the plastic headed screws that secure the T-bar in place won't stay tight (and again, pliers are not the answer). I bought big cushioned hand knobs to replace the rod holder lock screws. You can get a good grip with plenty of torque (even in cold weather) with these. Likewise, I put adjustable handles on the bases to replace the cheap thumb screws. Just lift, loosen a half turn, and release (or lift, tighten a half turn, and release). Plenty of torque, and makes the T-bar quickly removeable. It's well worth the money if you're going to use them (a little or a lot).

    Look at: www.reidtool.com......for:

    Knob part no.: RK-77
    Adjustable handle: (stainless) KHB-722

I wasn't satisfied with mine until I did this
