    Default Trouble with my EYE.

In bobber fishing, the string bobber stop catches in the tiny eye at the end of the 12' rod. What is the reason for such tiny eye at the end? Why wouldn't a eye the size of your pinky finger work??

I usually cut some of the excess string off these types of bobber stops. I also use the rubber-style stops as well. If it is really bad, take the rod tip off and replace it with a bigger holed one.

I stopped using the string for the same reason. I went to the rubber ones and haven't had any problems since. Good luck!

Cut off some of the string, but then singe it with the hot tip of a blown out match. This keeps the ends from fraying.

    Try this
Pull the skirt off an old spinnerbait, take one of the rubbers off and tie it to the line above the bobber, depending on the size of the hole in the top of the bobber you may or may not need a bead. I use a thrill bobber and the hole in the top is tiny. Any way once the rubber is tied to the line cinch it good the knot will be very small. trim the excess and your done. I quit screwing with the strings long ago. Give it a try i'm sure you will be pleased with the results.

Some poles just aren't made for slide bobber fishing. You have one of them. Doesn't matter what type of knot you try. That first eye is too dang small. Get yourself a wally marshall or a richard williams rod. They're made to fish slide bobbers or tightline. Your b&m rod just dont cut it. ( if it is a b&m like i have )

easy to replace the tip eye on your rod just heat it with a match and it will pull right off . put the new tip on with a hot glue gun . or a stick of hot glue heated with a match. then let it cool over nite your ready to go.
