I love to read his articles. He seems to be a very knowledgeable man on the sport of crappie fishing.
Canepole, The way his fishing report reads sounds like he's been out on the lake fishing.
I hope he's ok, I have used him as a guide many years ago, he's a very nice
man. I heard a couple years ago that he had cancer and had beat it and was doing ok.

I ain't chatted with him in a couple of years. That's because I ain't been to his fishing rodeo at Carroll lake in a couple of years. He does good things for these kids. He's a good man.Originally Posted by spider rig man

Steve is a great friend of mine. He has an excellent informative article in each issue of CRAPPIE world magazine. He will answer your emails. His cancer is in remission but continue to lift him up in prayer. He truly is a giant in the area of Crappie fishing. This is what he wrote to me about a week ago.

"Hello Mike,
Thanks for your note and your crappie jigs look great. I hope you have a good summer ahead. Good "crappie fishing". I hope you have a good "crappie" fishing year ahead. Thanks for reading my stories in Crappie World and other magazines over the years. Here's hoping you have light breezes and hungry fish awaiting your next outing. Good "crappie" fishing."
