    Default fishing report 2-17-05 Sam Rayburn


    SAM RAYBURN Water stained north, lightly stained south; 52 degrees; 2.82' high. Black bass are fair on watermelon and green pumpkin wacky rigged Trick Worms and Rayburn Red and Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps in areas with clear, warm water away from feeder creeks with runoff. Crappie are fair on live shiners and pink/white jigs near deeper brush tops in 25 - 30 feet. Catfish are good on juglines baited with live bait and prepared bait in shallow water.

    TOLEDO BEND Water stained north, lightly stained south; 54 degrees; 1.35' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and shallow running crankbaits around shoreline cover and jigging spoons over deeper drops in 15 - 25 feet in the north end, shad and crawfish patterned Rat-L-Traps are working over grass beds in the south end, and Carolina rigged lizards and French Fries around main lake grass beds when the wind allows. Crappie are fair on shiners over planted brush tops in the Chicken Coop area above the Pendleton Bridge.
