    Default Another 17-incher!

I've been fishing Lake Greeson for over 20 years and have only seen a few crappie that were 17-inches long or longer and most of them have been this year.

Today my client caught a White Crappie that was right at 17-inches with it's mouth open and weighed right at 2-pounds.

We tried trolling crankbaits for stripers, whites and walleye early with no success but ended up with a few crappie and catfish after crappie fishing for about 3-hours.

I don't know why we're seeing more big crappie this year than ever before but it won't hurt my feelings if they just keep getting bigger.

When you start getting the 18's + I'll be down. :D In my experience these things go in cycles. It would be nice if you had a run of monsters for about 6 or 7 yrs like we had walleyes for the last 8 yrs.
Good things come to those who bait.

Jerry, it sounds like the bite was slower than you were hoping, but thats a trophy to make the day worth it. Awesome slab, Congrats.
