I think I would have a heart attack if this happened to me.

People don't think before they buy pets. If you are not going to take care of it then, give it to a pet store or sell it. I am sure that a 1lb piranha get a good sum.

we've got a county park that has a small lake here in our area. A fisherman last year caught two pirana from it.....I was amazed at how big they were, they obviously had survived a winter or two.

    Exclamation A lot of those "so-called" .....

Piranha .... actually turn out to be Pacu. Pacu do have teeth ... but they're more blunted and square topped, unlike the Piranha which have the pointed and razor sharp ones. From the picture, and looking only at the front teeth of that fish, it would appear to more likely be a Pacu. Pacu are vegetarian by nature, but will eat "meat" to survive.
Nonetheless, in either instance, I wouldn't want to "lip land" one of them ... could be worse than lipping a Walleye or Musky :p

I think that was what all the fuss was about in the Columbus Ohio area a while back. The individual thought he had caught a wolrd class Bluegill but it was a Pacu. old ship
