    Here is an answer for anyone wondering if we "grow 'em big" here in Northern California/Bay Area :p. This 3.9 lb, 19 inch "monster" was caught by my crappie fishing buddy Julio "Junior" Cardenas on 8 June 2007 at Uvas Reservoir, which I mentioned in my first post on the forum. We hit the same spot the next day (Saturday, 9 June 2007) and caught the 'smaller' relatives shown in an earlier post. Needless to say, Junior won the Coyote Bait and Tackle crappie tournament :D, which concluded on Sunday, 1 July 2007.

    We are going to make a "night stalk" trip to that spot since it is nice cove where a light can be placed in the water from the shore (no boats allowed in Uvas this year, plus we are both 'shore' fishermen). It should be an interesting experience.

    Nice catch! That is a fact about Cali crappie they do get big.
