The wife wanted to go to the lake to relax the other day and suggested I take my new fishing partner. Don't quite know how he is going to work out just yet. Didn't have the patience to try for deep water crappie, so went after what we could catch.http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u154/williambowles/MayKentuckyLake078.jpg

I wish I could teach my wife to "fetch". Trouble is, she has the "get it yourself" down pat..ha

Nice looking partner, but it looks like he may be missing the AC back at home.

He looks like a "Barney" to me, what's his name? Great lookin' Bassett.

I think he might be a little too hyper to make a good fishing partner...:)

Fine looking puppy...I hope you enjoy each other for many years...

That's Baxter the Bassett....and it's the wife's dog, not mine. Lol! It was hard containing his excitement.

Awwwwww...what a handsome boy! There is just nothing cuter than a Basset Hound puppy....and man, do they know how to use it to their advantage. I oughta know...I'm a human slave to one spoiled rotten, 5-yr old Basset Boy. Enjoy!

Can he swim or is that a pfd I see around him? I love bassets, a friend of mine used to clip his ears behind his head when she gave him canned kibble, it was fine as long as she remembered to take them down again.

I'm sure Baxter will appreciate everyone's kind words. I'll try to remember them too, especially when he's chewing up another pair of my houseshoes. He wasn't real fond of swimming, liked the water until it got midway up his ears. He is a pretty good boy though! Thanks everyone.

Good lookin hound ya got there.

Puppies are fun for about 1/2 hour and then it gets old. Chewed up stuff an ruined carpet. Housebreaking sucks!

He sure is a good lookin hound!

Great looking Bassett. My Bassett is getting up there in years, she will be 11 this fall. She HATES the water. She won't even walk in wet grass. Love the bark.
