    Default Allatoona Crappie Timing

I'd really like to get in on the crappie action at Allatoona this year. I live less than 10 minutes from the nearest ramp. Even so, last year I was late to the party. What are the best conditions and times of the year? Seems like if you wait for the dogwoods to bloom, you're already too late. Any help would be appreciated.

'Toona is my back yard water also. I think with our wacky weather patterns that the "bite" can be sporadic. I fished it last Saturday and the ones we caught were scattered with us trolling a large area of the Little River area. The crappie "bite" on 'Toona I call "Opportunist", in other words, every opportunity you have to get out there and fish it you had better take it because the "bite" just may be on and it would be a terrible thing to miss!
