i guess it may have slowed for some, or is it they just arent savvy on how to fish them this time of year?

i crappie fish 5-7 days a week until the ice sets, then i only get out 3-4 days a week, and its very rare that i dont come home with a limit. just caught one that weighed in at a bit over 3lbs.

this time of the year, just use your sonar to find the schooled fish chasing the shad and fatheads around on the thermacline, and present them with the correct jig. this time of year, if fished properly, a jig can outfish minows 3-1. i wont divulge where i fish, but i can assure you if you have a boat,a decent sonar that can distiguish between submerged floating debris and actual fish and light line and the right jig, theres no reason you cant come home limited out everytime.

as a matter of fact, the crappies im catching are still in prespawn, and are just starting to show small sacks of eggs ( but im catching them at about 3500+ feet too)
