    Question Best lure for crappie

I need some suggestions on the best jig or lure for casting in the spring for crappie. Also the best color/colors.

I have had very good results with the 1/16 oz tube jig. These are stocked at WalMart. The sportsmaster23 on eBay sells a 1.5" tube, salted & Berkly scented, that is called a baby bass. This and a white/with a llttle red tube are my Favorites. In the cold water now, I like to add Nibbles or some cod liver oil. Nibbles are not as messy as the oil. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I tried the nibbles for the 1st time yesterday. they are pretty sticky. Can you use them with live minnows.

I like to take a few nibbles out and let them dry some,as needed. They will stay on the hook better.

I have never tried trout nibbles. I talked to 2 resident fishermen at Lake Palestine that said the crappie there had started biting good- With big smiles. I may try there when the wind calms.
